Job description

International Shipping Associate

The International Shipping Associate ("Motor Freight" Associate) will assist with the preparation of shipping both business-to-business and international orders. This individual must be able to take directions well and complete all order preparations according to customer and regulatory requirements. Order preparation will include picking products, palletizing and labeling as required, and loading orders on outbound carriers. The associate will be trained in the creation of all required shipping documents and freight scheduling. This is a temporary-to-hire position. Candidates will initially be employed through our staffing partner, with the opportunity to transition to a full-time position based on performance, attendance, and business needs.

Reports To: Motor Freight Lead

Essential Functions

  • Accurately pick and palletize orders according to established guidelines.
  • Follow customer specific guidelines for palletizing orders
  • Apply all required labeling to meet customer requirements
  • Pick/label product destined for international customers according to regulatory requirements
  • Operate Powered Industrial Trucks in a safe and efficient manner
  • Complete all documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Cross train in other departments as needed and flex to other functions as assigned.
  • Assist with warehouse cleaning and maintenance
  • Serve a Motor Freight/Intl Lead back-up when needed.
  • Perform additional duties as required by management

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional warehouse environment. This role routinely uses standard warehouse equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, forklifts. pallet jacks, mount and balance equipment and other various equipment as assigned by management.

Physical Demands

The individual in this position will spend several hours standing and using warehouse equipment and computers, which can cause muscle strain. He/she may also have to do lifting of supplies and product on a daily basis. These supplies and product can weigh up to 70 pounds.

Schedule and Availability

Unless other arrangements are made with supervisor, the individual in this position works a full-time schedule week during our open business hours. Business hours: 8am-5pm.

The successful candidate's qualifications will include:

  • Experience working in domestic and international shipping a plus
