Job description

About the Role: The Shipping role is critical to ensuring the efficient and accurate movement of goods from the warehouse to customers. This position involves coordinating shipping schedules, preparing shipping documentation, and verifying the accuracy of orders before dispatch. The role will work closely with warehouse staff, carriers, and logistics partners to maintain timely delivery and uphold quality standards. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are essential to prevent errors and damage during transit. Ultimately, this role supports the overall supply chain by facilitating smooth and reliable shipping operations that meet customer expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ensure a high level of customer service is always provided
  • Load and unload shipment in trucks
  • Load and inspect loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications
  • Transfer materials from storage or work sites to the designated area by hand or using a hand truck, electric dolly, or forklift
  • Inspect material handling equipment for defects, notify maintenance personnel or outside service facility for repair
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence, such as size, type, or product code using a radio frequency gun (RF gun)
  • Determine the location for retrieval of items using a radio frequency gun (RF gun)
  • Attach identifying tags or labels to materials or mark information on cases, shelves, bins, or other containers
  • Compile records of unfilled orders; notify appropriate personnel of missing items
  • Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves, or transfer orders to shipping department
  • Maintain a clean and orderly shipping area and assist with warehouse and yard
  • Perform other various duties, as outlined by supervisor

Qualifications and Physical Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Willingness to participate in pre-employment and random drug screenings
  • 6+ months related experience
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to safely drive a forklift
  • Ability to work in excessively hot and cold conditions due to outside environment of the warehouse
  • OSHA regulated Steel Toe Shoes: Either an ASTM F243 M/I/50/C/50 or ANSI Z41 PT M/I/50/50. Or an ASTM F2413 F/I/50/C/50 or ANSI Z41 PT F/I/50/C/50
