The Position

In collaboration with the site leadership team, the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor is responsible for overseeing Langley Casino's receiving orders, managing food and beverage goods and services inventory and liaising with other stakeholders with respect to the goods and services for the casino's operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Works with the corporate Food and Beverage managers and other site managers to oversee receiving orders on site and maintain the inventory for the entire Langley Casino's goods, supplies, and services.
  • Implements ordering and delivery schedules in accordance with operational needs.
  • Prepares and submits month-end inventory reports and takes part in counts.
  • Confers with the food and beverage management team and other site managers on daily on pricing, inventory requirements, and suppliers.
  • Maintains a purchase order system and receiving log of goods entering the building, and files reports as required.
  • Liaises with Food and Beverage Management and site management team to identify site operational needs.
  • Assists in resolving disputes and discrepancies regarding orders and inventory.
  • Ensures rotation of goods to avoid spoilage and maintains a clean and safe work environment.
  • Retains a thorough and updated knowledge of company policies and procedures, provincial and local regulations for food and beverage and casino operations.
  • Works closely with Pest Control Management and the site's maintenance team to keep the site compliant and well-maintained.
  • Oversees the human resources issues, performance, safety, and recruitment needs of the Shipper/Receivers. Manages the performance of direct reports including training, appraising performance, providing positive and corrective feedback, coaching, and administering discipline.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of waste collection areas and storage locations for the entire site. Also coordinates with waste service providers for pickups and disposal schedules.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You Bring

  • 5 years warehouse and receiving experience preferred.
  • Adept at Internet supplier and product research and the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to work with purchasing systems and software.
  • Purchasing Management Association of Canada courses desirable.
  • Experience with inventory control.
  • Experience with purchasing/receiving systems and software an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proven experience in negotiating with suppliers.
  • Proven leadership skills - able to direct and supervise staff.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Self motivated and able to multi-task.
  • Demonstrates and promotes teamwork.
  • Ability to regularly lift, push and pull materials, and products weighing up to 50 lbs.
