Who We Are HII Mission Technologies is seeking a skilled and detail‑oriented Electrical Designer to support the development, integration, and documentation of electrical systems for complex defense and national security programs.

In this role, you will collaborate with engineers, project managers, and cross‑functional teams to produce high‑quality design packages that meet technical, schedule, and quality requirements. This position is ideal for candidates who thrive in a fast‑paced environment and enjoy solving real‑world engineering challenges that support mission‑critical operations. What You Will Do Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations.

Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as, CAD, CAM or CATIA. Gathers information, makes studies, computes calculations, and prepares original rough layouts, sketches to present design proposal. Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning group such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications.

Exclude classifications in which incumbents predominantly perform drafting assignments. Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other designers to ensure that designs meet project requirements. Prepare and present design concepts and ideas to project teams and clients.

Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in design. What You Must Have Associates Degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 3 years of related experience; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 5 years related experience. Candidate must be Proficiency in AutoCAD software.

Candidate must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance required for this position. Candidate must be familiar with shipboard systems and electrical systems. Candidate must have strong communication and collaboration skills.

Candidate must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Candidate must have strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Candidate must have knowledge of industry trends and best practices in design.

Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen Bonus Points For Having! Skilled in implementing Ingalls Shipyard Standards while working with complex naval electrical systems Experience in Power & Lighting Electrical Design Experience performing Ship Checks Openness to travel as required Physical Requirements Office, industrial or shipboard environment.

Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances during site surveys. Lifting and moving of materials not to exceed the guidelines set for one man lift. Must be able to perform site surveys and carry a lap top computer.
