Sherpa 6 is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Golang Developer to join our team. We build mission critical systems for the Department of Defense (DoD) and other commercial customers. We're looking for experienced Golang developers who are familiar with building REST APIs in a micro services architecture. This person should be very familiar with relational databases.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop high-quality, scalable back-end code. This includes but is not limited to Go REST API development, scripting, SQL database development/maintenance, unit tests and design documentation.
  • The preferred candidate has extensive experience with software development and software engineering principles
  • Act as a subject matter expert for Go Development
  • Code and test software based upon software specifications and designs
  • Analyze and study complex system requirements
  • Design software tools and subsystems to support software reuse and domain software development
  • Use sound software engineering principles to ensure that developed code is maintainable, efficient, reliable, understandable, and fault tolerant
  • Provide software process management and control throughout the coding portion of the software development process

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Software Engineering experience
  • 3+ years of Go development experience
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • Experience in design, development, and documentation of REST API endpoints
  • Experience working with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.)
  • Experience with software development tools such as Git, JIRA, or Trello
  • Demonstrated communication and teamwork skills

Qualities of Exceptional Candidates:

  • Experience working in STIG-compliant environments/instances
  • Experience working with Client/Server Certificates, Certificate Authorities, and Client Certificate Authentication
  • Experience with scripting in Linux and Windows environments
  • Experience with encryption and cryptography algorithms
  • Demonstrated aptitude with Go concurrency patterns
  • Experience working with tactical radio APIs

The proposed salary range is reflective across all Sherpa 6 locations, years of experience, and skill levels. Salary negotiations will be based on a host of factors including but not limited to your geographic location, prior experience, relevant skills, education, and certifications.
