Attention DevOps gurus! We are looking for an engineer with experience building software deployment automation in cloud environments. You will be working collaboratively to design, code, integrate and deploy automated scripts for their products within the end clients Cloud Services team. The end client provides hosting services for our customers via their Colocation facilities as well as AWS. 100% automation is the goal!
This is a full-time salaried position because they believe that automation work never ends, and that everyone is responsible for quality. You will not be siloed away from other teams; their developers will be working directly with you to help create and work with the framework. They firmly approach this process with Agile methodology.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
- Build and develop 100% automation from installation package to running system
- Manage deployments in AWS.
- Maintain Opscode Chef codebase
- Work closely with the Engineering team on architecture and technologies to accelerate delivery and monitoring of their solutions
- Diagnose complex systems issues with multiple influencing factors.
- Work closely with developers to ensure that their products are developed with scalability and manageability in mind
Ideal Technical Skills:
- Familiarity with Devops concepts and techniques (CI/CD, Git, Chef, Test Kitchen, Vagrant)
- 4+ years of experience developing and maintaining automated deployment scripts in Windows and Unix (notably Windows 2012r2/2016 and Ubuntu Linux)
- 2+ years supporting public or private cloud technology particularly Amazon AWS technologies
- Experience writing Cloud Formation templates.
- AWS Solution Architect Professional certification preferable.
- 2+ Years supporting a live 24x7 environment.
- 4+ years of experience in system and application administration in a SaaS environment
- 4+ years of experience with Apache/Nginx deployments
- Experience with SQL DBs (PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and NoSQL DBs a plus (Cassandra, Redis)
- Experience with shell scripting/programming languages (particularly Bash and Ruby)
- Experience integrating with CI/Build system (Jenkins, etc) and incorporating test driven development principles into deployments
- Experience with monitoring technologies for example Nagios New Relic
- Security experience and knowledge
