TankWorx + Construction Services, LLCTank Superintendent – New Construction & Repairs Position SummaryThe Tank Superintendent is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all field operations related to aboveground storage tank new construction, repairs, alterations, and maintenance projects. This position provides direct supervision of field personnel, subcontractors, and craft professionals while ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications, API standards, customer requirements, and company quality expectations. The Tank Superintendent serves as the primary field leader and works closely with Project Managers, Project Controls, Safety, Quality Control, clients, and vendors to successfully execute industrial construction projects.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPlan, organize, and supervise all field activities for API 650 tank construction, API 653 repairs, and related industrial construction projects.Lead daily field operations while maintaining a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with all company, customer, OSHA, and regulatory requirements.Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and resources to maintain project schedules.Conduct daily planning meetings, toolbox talks, pre-task planning, and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).Review project drawings, specifications, contracts, work packages, and construction schedules before work begins.Ensure construction activities comply with engineering drawings, specifications, API standards, ASME requirements (when applicable), and customer expectations.Monitor project productivity and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.Coordinate with Project Managers regarding project progress, schedule impacts, manpower requirements, and material needs.Verify that materials and equipment are available before scheduled work begins.Oversee structural steel installation, tank shell erection, bottom installation, roof installation, nozzle installation, appurtenances, and repair activities.Supervise welding, fitting, rigging, crane operations, hydrotesting, repairs, coatings, and final completion activities.Coordinate inspections with Quality Control personnel, third-party inspectors, and customer representatives.Maintain daily reports documenting manpower, equipment utilization, production quantities, weather delays, safety observations, and project progress.Monitor project costs including labor hours, equipment usage, and subcontractor performance.Ensure all work meets quality standards before customer inspections.Identify and resolve field issues while minimizing project delays.Maintain effective communication with customers, inspectors, vendors, and internal management.Mentor foremen and field leaders while promoting employee development.Participate in project kickoff meetings, planning meetings, and closeout meetings.Ensure proper housekeeping and organization of work areas.Enforce company policies, procedures, and standards of conduct.Perform additional duties as assigned.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesDirectly supervises Foremen, Leadmen, craft employees, and subcontractors.Plans daily work assignments and manpower allocation.Evaluates employee performance and provides coaching and development.Assists with hiring recommendations, promotions, disciplinary actions, and workforce planning.Promotes teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.Required
