About the Role
The San Diego Symphony is seeking a creative, motivated Marketing Assistant to support brand marketing and concert promotion for The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park, one of the nation's premier outdoor music venues owned and operated by the San Diego Symphony. This role is ideal for early-career professionals interested in live events, music, social media, and experiential marketing.
You will report to and work closely with the Director of Marketing for The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park on campaigns that build audience engagement, elevate the brand, and promote a wide range of concerts and events with a strong emphasis on social media content creation, digital storytelling, and audience engagement.
What You'll Do
  • Contribute ideas for multi-channel brand campaigns and creative concepts to promote The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park
  • Support development of social media content across TikTok, Instagram, Meta, and X (Reels/TikTok, Stories, posts, captions, etc.)
  • Assist in the planning and execution of concert promotion campaigns
  • Capture on-site content at select concerts and events
  • Research trends, audiences, influencers, and best practices in social media
  • Help manage content calendars and schedule posts
  • Track engagement metrics and compile performance reports across various platforms
  • Support general marketing department tasks and event-day needs

Requirements
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong interest in brand marketing, social media, and live entertainment/music industry
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with TikTok, Instagram, and emerging platforms
  • Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or video editing tools a plus
  • Photo and short-form video skills are highly valued
  • Organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work some evenings/weekends for concerts and events
  • Currently enrolled in or recent graduate from a college/university program in Marketing, Communications, PR, Media Studies, or related field (preferred)
  • Role may require walking, climbing stairs, lifting and carrying 50+ lbs.
