We are the home of ambitious, passionate, and innovative world shapers.

With an unmatched breadth and depth of engineering, advisory and science-based expertise, our global minds unite to power local solutions.

We are pathfinders and impact makers.

We are Visioneers.

We are WSP.

The Opportunity

Shape the World Around You - As a Document Controller on our engineering projects team, you'll sit at the centre of how information flows across a diverse portfolio of work, from small, fastturnaround assignments to complex mega and major capital projects. In this contract role, you'll leverage your document control expertise and systems knowledge to keep multidisciplinary teams aligned, our clients informed, and our projects moving forward in a fastpaced, constantly changing environment.

This role will ideally be located out of an AB or BC office.

Your Impact

In this role, you'll:

  • Be accountable for document control activities across multiple concurrent engineering, EPC/EPCM and construction projects of varying size, scope and complexity, ensuring information is accurate, current and accessible.
  • Set up, configure and maintain project document control environments in platforms such as InEight, Aconex, SharePoint and BIM 360, tailoring workspaces to client and project requirements.
  • Maintain structured document numbering, metadata, workflows and revision control so project teams and clients can quickly find and trust the information they need.
  • Process transmittals, submissions, reviews and approvals with a high degree of accuracy and speed, supporting tight project timelines and fastturnaround deliverables.
  • Respond to internal and external documentrelated queries, providing clear guidance on document control standards, processes and best practices.
  • Perform quality checks on incoming and outgoing documentation to confirm alignment with templates, naming conventions and project standards.
  • Safeguard version integrity by tracking revisions, managing superseded documents and supporting documentrelated audits as required.
  • Pivot quickly between priorities and projects, pausing work on one assignment and transitioning seamlessly to another as project needs evolve.

The Skills That Set You Apart

You'll bring many of the following strengths to the team:

  • Between 3 to 5 years of handson document control experience in engineering, EPC/EPCM, construction or closely related industries, supporting both smaller jobs and large, complex capital projects.
  • A proven track record managing document control for multidiscipline engineering environments (for example mining, oil & gas, power, infrastructure), with an understanding of how different teams use and rely on documentation.
  • Strong proficiency with document management systems such as InEight, Aconex, SharePoint and BIM 360, including setting up workspaces, workflows and permissions.
  • Deep understanding of document workflows, transmittals, revision control and industry documentation standards, with the ability to tailor processes to clientspecific requirements (e.g., Shell, TC Energy, Pembina, Cenovus, Atco).
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organization and accuracy, with a focus on getting the right information to the right people at the right time.
  • Comfort working with minimal supervision, while maintaining proactive communication with project managers and engineering teams.
  • Agility to juggle multiple priorities and switch tasks rapidly in response to shifting project demands and deadlines.
  • Experience mentoring or coaching other document control professionals or project coordinators (an asset).
  • Knowledge of ISO standards and audit processes, and how they relate to document control and records management, is considered an advantage.
