Job Title: Sheet Metal Installer

Job Description

The Sheet Metal Installer supports the installation of architectural sheet metal and exterior building envelope systems on a variety of projects. This role works with metal wall and roof panels, exterior cladding systems, and related components to help ensure high-quality, weather-tight building exteriors. You will use hand and power tools, read blueprints, and operate equipment while working at heights in outdoor environments.

Responsibilities

  • Install sheet metal flashing and trim according to project specifications and blueprints.
  • Install metal wall and roof panels as part of exterior building envelope systems.
  • Install exterior wall cladding, soffit panels, and related architectural metal components.
  • Assist with the installation of translucent and composite wall systems.
  • Support the installation of waterproofing and air barrier systems to ensure weather-tight performance.
  • Install fiber cement siding and fiberglass sandwich panel assemblies as required.
  • Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during fabrication and installation tasks.
  • Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and other equipment as needed to access work areas and move materials.
  • Perform basic welding tasks and assist with fabrication work when required.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and drawings to complete installations accurately.
  • Support general maintenance of tools, equipment, and work areas to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Work at heights safely and consistently, following all safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Work scheduled shifts starting at 6:00 a.m. and continue until the day’s work is completed, including overtime when needed.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to complete projects on time and to quality standards.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures, including the use of required personal protective equipment.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to work comfortably and safely at heights without fear.
  • Proficiency using hand tools and power tools for sheet metal and exterior system installation.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn new tools, systems, and installation methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and basic construction drawings.
  • Basic experience operating equipment such as forklifts and scissor lifts or willingness to learn.
