Job description

Position Summary:

Set up and operate sheet metal forming machines, equipment, or use of power tools, hand tools and other instruments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lay out, measure and mark sheet metal and reference lines on material for fabrication.
  • Form sheet metal using rolling or cold drawing mills.
  • Use manual equipment or processes, to cut, bend and/or straighten sheet metal.
  • Trim, file, grind, deburr, polish, clean edges, seams, joins and surface finish.
  • Fasten seems or joints together with welds using sim-automatic weld mills to assemble components into rolled products.
  • Inspect finished product for dimensional conformance and surface quality finish.
  • Maintain clean and orderly work environment.
  • Demonstrates ability to appear for work on time, follow directions from a supervisor, interact well with co-workers, understand and follow work rules and procedures, comply with company policies and procedures, goals and objectives, and accepts constructive feedback.
  • Other duties as assigned, requested or needed.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or General Education Development (GED).
  • 6 months industrial manufacturing experience or equivalent of education and experience.

  • Ability understand and follow standard operating and safety procedures.
  • Ability to see details and handle objects.
  • Read and comprehend verbal and written instructions
