What is a sheep?

Sheep are domesticated mammals commonly raised for their wool, meat (lamb and mutton), and milk. They are social animals that typically live in flocks and are known for their gentle temperament. Sheep have been an important part of agriculture for thousands of years and are found worldwide. Their wool is especially valued in the textile industry, while their grazing habits can also play a role in land management.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a sheep farmer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Sheep Farmer, you need expertise in animal husbandry, pasture management, and basic veterinary care, often supported by agricultural training or experience. Familiarity with farm management software, shearing tools, and livestock health monitoring systems is valuable. Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and resilience are essential soft skills for managing livestock and adapting to changing conditions. These skills ensure healthy flocks, efficient farm operations, and long-term sustainability in sheep farming.
