Dietary Aide – Shalom Gardens Health & Rehab

Shalom Gardens Health & Rehab is looking for a dependable, energetic, and caring Dietary Aide to join our team!

If you enjoy working with people, thrive in a team environment, and take pride in providing excellent service, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. As a Dietary Aide, you’ll play an important role in creating a positive dining experience for our residents while helping maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming kitchen.

What You’ll Do

As a Dietary Aide, you will support our Dietary Services team with meal preparation, service, sanitation, and overall kitchen operations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Prepare dining areas and tables for meal service.

  • Assist with meal preparation under the direction of the Cook or Dietary Manager.

  • Prepare resident trays accurately and according to dietary instructions.

  • Deliver meals and trays to designated dining areas and resident rooms in a timely manner.

  • Clear tables and collect dishes, trays, utensils, and other items following meals.

  • Wash dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment.

  • Maintain clean and sanitary food preparation and service areas.

  • Properly dispose of food waste and garbage.

  • Assist with stocking food, supplies, and other dietary items.

  • Monitor inventory and notify leadership when supplies are running low.

  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, infection control, and facility policies.

  • Work collaboratively with Dietary, Nursing, and other facility team members to provide an excellent resident experience.

What We’re Looking For
  • Previous dietary, food service, restaurant, or healthcare experience is preferred.

  • Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices is a plus.

  • Ability to follow instructions and resident-specific dietary requirements.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

  • Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform the physical requirements of the position.

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Food service or ServSafe certification is a plus.
