COOKS

Cooks are responsible for cooking all Panda Express entrées and side dishes and for

executing Panda Express recipes correctly to ensure food quality, ensuring food safety

practice, and maintaining cleanliness at the Panda Express Restaurant. Panda also

recommends that Cooks are cross trained to perform FOH operations. Cooks should be

able to perform all BOH operations including prepping, cooking entrees and sides,

cutting, sauce margination, etc.

Cook

The Cook follows established procedures and applies general technical standards and principles. The Cook’s work is closely guided, and work performed may impact both Front of House and Back of House activities.

MAJOR JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Prepares all dishes according to established Panda Express Brand Standard recipes and procedures, ensuring that all dishes meet Brand Standards for flavor, color, and aroma.
  • Assists managers in training, scheduling, and guidance of Back of House staff
  • Controls food inventory and orders from vendors when necessary.
  • TECHNICAL & BUSINESS KNOWLEDGE
    • Applies knowledge of Chinese cuisine and cooking utensils.
  • TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS
    • Some high school.
    • 1-2 years related experience.
  • COMMUNICATION/ COLLABORATION/ TEAMWORK
    • Interacts daily with functional peer group, manager, and guests.
    • Interaction normally involves the exchange of basic factual information.
  • PROBLEM SOLVING
    • Completes tasks that require an ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice. ? Applies job skills and company policies and procedures to perform a variety of operations
