What we need:

 

Mohawk is looking for a Lift Truck Operator II in the Dalton, Ga area. You will Operate gasoline or electric-powered industrial trucks or tractors equipped with a pole, forklift and/or elevated platform to move materials.  Duties are performed under general supervision following standard work procedures and guidelines.

 

What you'll do:

 

  • Operates a man-up truck
  • Must be able to perform the following duties:
    • Operates drive gasoline- or electric-powered trucks to transport materials between loading, processing, and storage areas.
    • Operates lifting devices, such as forklifts, lift beams and swivel-hooks, hoists, and elevating platforms, to load, unload, transport, and stack material.
    • Moves pallets, skids, and boxes, and secures material or products for transport to designated areas.
    • Dumps, sprays, or releases materials into hoppers.
    • Performs routine checks and responsible for daily
      • Cleaning
      • Completes daily Vehicle Condition Report (inspections)
    • Manually load or unload materials onto or off pallets, skids, platforms, cars, or lifting devices.
    • Operates or tends automatic stacking, loading, packaging, or cutting machines.
    • Weighs materials or products and records weight and other production data as required.
    • Operate and follow instructions as directed by Manager / Crew Leader and onboard RF unit.
    • Records quality and output measures and completes any other necessary paperwork.
  • Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision
  • May be assigned to operator bailer to bail carpet, yarn, yarn tubes, etc. etc. as needed
  • Follow all established standard operating procedures
  • Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary
  • Perform other tasks assigned by management

 

What you have:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalency preferred.
  • No prior experience required.
  • Reads and writes in standard English and proficient in performing basic math calculations such as addition and subtraction.
  • Successful completion of all required on the job training.
  • Successful completion of all required health and environmental safety training.
  • Prior experience in a warehouse or as a general laborer preferred.

  • Must be an effective team member.
  • Good oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with others in the immediate work unit and in related support areas.
  • Ability to follow simple verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.

What else?

  • Frequently required to reach, handle, stand, walk, sit, and stoop.
  • Occasionally required to kneel. Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds frequently throughout a 12 hour shift.
  • Must be able to work 12 hour shifts either day or night, weekdays or weekends as scheduled.
  • Work in a normal industrial environment with inherent background noise, dirt, humidity, and temperature variations.
  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and in precarious places.
  • Working conditions include hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and noise.
  • Requires standing more than 2/3 of time.
  • Requires regular lifting up to 100 pounds.
