What You'll Do

As a member of our network, you will be matched with opportunities to teach Fashion, Sewing, Crochet, or Embroidery to K-12 students at schools, buildings, and communities across Boston. These teaching opportunities will be for terms that could last anywhere from 6 weeks to 18 weeks.

As an after school instructor, you'll have the following responsibilities:

  • Develop age-appropriate Fashion, Sewing, Crochet, or Embroidery curriculum for after-school students
  • Lead weekly in-person classes with enthusiasm and expertise
  • Establish a well-structured and lively classroom that keeps students engaged
  • Foster a positive, supportive, and encouraging learning environment for students of varying skill levels
  • Build connections with students in a warm and inclusive environment
  • Track student growth and offer positive, helpful feedback
  • Arrive prepared, on time, and ready to teach
  • Create a memorable experience for the children in your class
Who You Are
A fun, enthusiastic, adaptable instructor, with experience teaching school age children, and who:
  • Has subject matter expertise in Fashion, Sewing, Crochet, or Embroidery
  • Has a passion and skill for building hands-on projects with kids

$90 - $120 an hour
Teachers in the Togetherhood network are paid per class, either flat rate or per-student (determined by the partner school). This is contracted, supplemental 1099 work. There is a separate materials budget for teachers to use for classes requiring one.
