Upholstery Seamstress / Sewing Specialist

Raleigh, NC | Full-Time

At Finish Pros, we specialize in high-end furniture reupholstery and refinishing for residential and commercial clients throughout the Triangle. We are looking for an experienced Upholstery Seamstress who takes pride in craftsmanship, attention to detail, and producing clean, professional work.

This is not apparel sewing — we are specifically seeking someone with furniture upholstery sewing experience who understands pattern matching, cushion construction, and upholstery materials.

Responsibilities

  • Sew cushions, seat covers, pillows, welting, and upholstery panels for residential and commercial furniture
  • Cut and assemble upholstery materials including fabric, vinyl, leather, and performance textiles
  • Read and interpret upholstery patterns and layouts
  • Match stripes, plaids, and patterned fabrics accurately
  • Install zippers, boxing, decking, and double welt applications
  • Work closely with upholsterers and project managers to maintain production timelines
  • Inspect finished work to ensure high-quality craftsmanship and consistency
  • Maintain organization of materials and sewing workspace

Requirements

  • Must have prior upholstery seamstress/sewing experience in furniture upholstery
  • Experience sewing cushions, cushions with boxing, welt cord, and upholstery applications required
  • Ability to work with heavy fabrics, vinyls, and leather
  • Strong understanding of upholstery construction methods
  • Experience with industrial sewing machines
