The core hours are 6AM - 2:30PM.

Eaton Corporation in Reno, NV is currently seeking a Maintenance Mechanic/Technician to join our GEIS team!

  • Troubleshoot and repair electronic and mechanical malfunctions on any plant machine, facility system or related equipment.
    • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical power presses, power transmission devices, conveyers and un-coilers
    • Install, troubleshoots, repairs the following systems: PLC's, HMI's, VFD Drives, Vision Systems, Motor Control Centers, Power Distribution Centers, Motors (DC, AC, Stepper, Servo, etc.), Three Phase/Single Phase - power and control circuits, Control Panel layout and component installation.
  • Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on all production equipment.
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with National Electric Code (NEC) codes.
    • Installing and repairing electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment, following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications, using hand tools, power tools, and electrical and electronic test equipment.
  • Installation of new and or used manufacturing equipment.
  • Fabrication and machining as required to complete projects.
  • Operation of lift trucks, man lifts and boom lifts to work in elevated locations.
  • Fabrication of various devices and mechanisms to improve, repair or replace that which is not operating properly or efficiently
  • Welding, prototyping, plumbing, painting, masonry, piping, and carpentry duties as necessary.
  • Support all facility Continuous Improvement and LEAN initiatives.

Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution and one year maintenance experience OR a Technical school diploma OR an Associate's degree in electronics or commercial and industrial electrical systems
  • Experience reading electrical/mechanical blueprints and schematics.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Reno, NV will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:
โ€ข 2 years of PLC (programmable logic controller) troubleshooting or programming experience.
โ€ข Five (5) years' experience in the electrical field, in an industrial/ manufacturing environment
โ€ข Previous experience with Allen Bradley and Siemens Software to troubleshoot PLC's, HMI's, and Drives
โ€ข Journeyman Electrician Certified
โ€ข Previous mechanical power press experience
โ€ข Previous roll forming experience
โ€ข Previous sheet metal fabrication
โ€ข Previous gas Metal Arch Welding (GMAW) experience
Position Requirements:
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Previous experience with CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management System)
  • Microsoft office suite experience (e.g., Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Must be able to start on 1st shift for training purposes (orientation, onboarding training for 4-6 months).
  • Ability to interface with vendors to troubleshoot, setup and acquire parts for various types of machinery
  • Working knowledge of production machinery and equipment such as clutch/brake systems, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, compressed gas systems, water systems, & cooling systems

Physical Demands:
โ€ข Able to stand on feet continuously during working shift: kneeling, bending, and climbing required.
โ€ข Able to regularly lift 50 pounds without assistance
โ€ข Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by company policy and procedure
โ€ข Exposure to high noise level (ear protection may be required in some areas)
โ€ข Exposure to high traffic areas with forklift activity
