Our clientย is searching for a senior Systems Network and Command and Control (C2) Architect Engineer to support the development of first-of-kind space vehicles and missions. This handpicked candidate mustย possessย technicalย expertiseย and experience with developing, designing, building, and integrating space hardware and software. In this position, you will provide System Engineering Technical Assistance (SETA) to the Space Rapid Capabilities Office (RCO). The Space RCO program office,ย locatedย at Kirtland AFB, NM, is a small, streamlined organization with dedicated, organic acquisition support functions: contracting,ย financial management, human resources, programย managementย and technical engineering support that are critical in enabling the rapid response required for classified space programs. The mission is to develop and deliver operationally dominant space capabilities at the speed of warfighting relevance in response to Commander, U.S. Space Command requirements. A successful candidate should be a leader and problem solver with a proven ability to deliver superior results as part of a high-performing team in a high-profile, fast-paced environment.ย 

Systems Network and C2 Architect Engineer Principal Duty:

You will work in a small, highly empowered team where every team member isย directly responsibleย for the success of the program. Engineering responsibilities span technology domains including space rated hardware, software, sensors, and processors in an extremely fast-paced, responsive development environment. This SETA candidate willย assistย the government PM in designing, planning, and documenting network solutions; develop hardware and software requirements to continuously analyze network performance and traffic, as well as troubleshooting network issues. You must apply advanced principles, theories, and concepts for highly classified systems, while also effectively communicating complex results with management and executive leadership.ย ย 

The proposed salary range for this position isย $180,000-$210,000.ย There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications.ย ย  ย 

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assistย the government Program Manager and with network design and implementation throughout the acquisition lifecycleย ย 

  • Leads or supports technical programs, projects, or tasks whose technical complexity requires engineering oversightย 

  • Ensures completion of tasks within estimatedย time framesย and budget constraintsย ย 

  • Provides input to the government customer concerning risks to performance, schedule, and budget due to either proposed contractor plans or contractor's execution of accepted plansย 

  • Ensure the quality of the program, project, or task deliverables meet or exceed standards or metrics and assess such deliverables to ensure that the final deliverables will meet the warfighting purpose forย which they are intendedย 

  • Plans and performs engineering research, design development, and other engineering assignments in conformance with the design, engineering, and customer specificationsย 

  • Coordinates with multiple partners/agencies to ensure system engineering communities support delivery milestonesย 

  • Propose network adoption plans, application design, and management and monitoring to include potential hosting in cloud environmentย 

  • Tracks andย advisesย design trades and associated cost, schedule, and technical impacts to requirementsย 

  • Supports design, interpretation, and analysis of technical solutions to complex discipline-specific testingย 

  • Translate complex ideas and data into simple, actionable recommendations or easily differentiated courses of actionย 

  • Communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy-oral and writtenย 

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

Clearance:ย Activeย TS/SCI with SAP Eligibility, and willingness to sit for a CI Polyย 
Education and Years of Experience:ย Relevant MA/MS/ME Degree from a program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET)ย and a minimum ten (10) years DoD/IC, or relevant industry work experience. (No less than two (2) year's total SAP and/or SCI environment experience, with 1-year total within last 5 years)ย 

  • Experience with DoD acquisition to include documentation generation, presentation preparation, and supporting programmatic-focused discussionsย 

  • Proven experience and/or qualifications in requirements development for the DoD or ICย 

  • Knowledge of space system engineering, development, and manufacturingย 

  • Experience in network design,ย optimizationย and security in a classified and unclassified environmentย 

  • Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, etc.), routing and switching, network security, virtualization, and cloud computingย 

  • Ability to diagnose and resolve network issues effectivelyย 

  • Experience in DoD program management including program development and transitionย 

  • Experience monitoring network performance,ย identifyingย and resolving issues, and performing regular maintenance tasks like software updates and security patches.ย ย 

  • Experience creating network blueprints, selectingย appropriate hardwareย and software, and overseeing the setup of new networks or network expansionsย 

  • Understanding of operational environment and corresponding mission user needs Experience with Statements of Work (SOW) and Performance Work Statements (PWS)ย 

PREFERRED ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • Five (5) years of relevant DoD and/or Industry work experience with SAP and/or SCIย 

  • Experience with network architecture for space vehicles and/or space ground systemsย 

  • System Engineering Technical Assistance (SETA) to Government program officeย 

  • Experience with rapid prototyping and transition to operationsย 

  • Experience with integrated air, space, and cyberspace capabilitiesย 

  • Experience with ACAT I/II level acquisition programsย 

  • Fluency with IC organizationsย 

  • Experience working in multiple classification environments and implementing cross-domain solutionsย 

  • Experience with online collaboration tools such as Confluence, SharePoint, and JIRAย 

  • Experience with cloud computing tools, such as VMware, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Microsoft Azureย
