Principal Systems Engineer - MBSE
Location: Aurora, CO
Clearance: Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph required
Role Summary
We are seeking a Principal Systems Engineer - MBSE to support enterprise-wide systems engineering and integration efforts within the Intelligence Community.
This role will apply Model-Based Systems Engineering and Digital Engineering practices to define system architectures, manage interfaces, and maintain requirements traceability across complex technical solutions. The engineer will develop and maintain system models, support architecture analysis, and use simulations to evaluate and optimize system performance.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain system models using Cameo Systems Modeler or equivalent MBSE tools.
  • Apply MBSE principles to support architecture definition, system design, interface management, and requirements traceability.
  • Support Digital Engineering workflows across design, integration, test, and delivery activities.
  • Use simulations and engineering analysis to evaluate complex system performance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, Government customers, SETA partners, military stakeholders, and contractor teams.
  • Support engineering planning, technical execution, and project coordination.
  • Review technical changes and assess potential impact to systems, interfaces, requirements, and delivery schedules.
  • Communicate technical issues, risks, and recommendations clearly to engineering and customer stakeholders.

Required Qualifications
  • 6+ years of engineering experience for P3 level or 8+ years for P4 level.
  • Practical experience applying Model-Based Systems Engineering principles.
  • Experience with Cameo Systems Modeler or equivalent modeling tools.
  • Familiarity with Digital Engineering practices and toolchains.
  • Experience with high-level programming languages, such as Python.
  • Demonstrated technical engineering capability and project management experience.
  • Experience working in team environments with Government, military, SETA, contractor, and customer stakeholders.
  • Active and transferable TS/SCI with CI Polygraph prior to start.
  • U.S. citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting systems installation, integration, and test activities.
  • Programming experience with Python, C++, or similar languages.
  • Experience with Request for Change impact reviews and technical assessment processes.
  • Experience with customer NSIS requirements and rapid delivery methods.
  • Strong customer relationship management and stakeholder engagement experience.
  • Experience working across contract teams and multiple locations.
  • Proficiency with JIRA, Confluence, and collaborative engineering tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical issues clearly.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics required.
  • STEM degree preferred.
