Description:

Set-up and maintain set-ups and operate multi-tooled machines such as: Turret Lathes, Broaches, Milling machines, In lines, and numerically controlled type of complicated equipment. Acts as group leader in area. Instructs Set up B personnel and trainees. Must be able to tool-up multi-tooled equipment from prints including camming without assistance. Perform all related duties under this classification for the satisfactory completion of the job being worked on. 


Duties and responsibilities are functions of the job and should not reflect the special talents or performance of an employee.

1. Periodic check piece parts on gauges or micrometers for tolerance.

2. Change and/or adjust tools as needed.

3. Change cams and gears as needed.

4. Install new set-ups and tooling.

5. Set-up and maintain complicated assembly equipment.

6. Withdraw parts and tools from tool crib, account for broken tools.

7. Inform supervisors where parts and assemblies do not conform to specifications. 

8. Temporarily replaces Operators on line if necessary.

9. Make general repairs to all types of machinery and equipment they operate.

10. Fit and install bearings.

11. Align shafts, scrape tool holders, etc.

12. Machine and fabricate equipment replacement parts using band saw, drill press, etc.

13. Regular and reliable attendance.

14. Maintain quality standards.


Requirements:

MINIMUM LEVEL OF EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED

H. S. Diploma or GED/HSED equivalency preferred but not required.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

0-3 years verifiable manufacturing experience

CANDIDATES MUST POSSESS

The ability to stand 2/3 or more of the day

The ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

The ability to read and interpret quality standards

The ability to communicate effectively

The ability to work in a fast paced environment

Lifting pans or baskets of parts from ground to waist level, climbing ladders, loading and unloading parts in baskets. 

Close Vision, Color Vision and ability to adjust focus are required.
