Job description

Winsert is seeking qualified candidates to join our Machine Shop as CNC Set-Up Operators! We have multiple positions available for skilled machinists.
B Shift: Monday - Thursday 8:00pm - 6:00am
C Shift (Work 36 hours paid for 40!): Friday - Sunday 6:00am - 6:00pm
D Shift (Work 36 hours paid for 40!): Friday - Sunday 6:00pm - 6:00am
Pay: $24 - $31 per hour
Shift Differentials: B Shift $1 per hour amp; D Shift $2 per hour!

General Summary:
Proficiently and safely set up and operate machining equipment using a variety of measuring/inspection equipment to produce parts within production standards.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Efficiently perform CNC set ups on production / sample parts.
  • Complete all required documentation.
  • Assist operators when required.
  • Troubleshoot related equipment for process / maintenance issues.
  • Perform various machining inspections - work holding / tool holders.
  • Update first piece checks when required.
  • Operate CNC machine controls and change tool settings to keep product dimensions within specified tolerances.
  • Train CNC Set-Up / Operators and perform duties of QA Technician when necessary.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to read, understand and edit G-code for CNC programs.
  • Exercise good time management, communication, interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required.
  • Understanding of basic mathematics, English and Metric measurement scales.
  • Ability to use computer skills to navigate ERP system and perform data collection.
  • Must be able to resolve problems, multi-task, and make effective decisions under pressure.
Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to actively move through production space to work with staff.
  • Vision must be correctable to allow reading/viewing of documents and computer screen.
  • Hearing must be correctable to allow understanding of instructions and communication with others.
  • Mobility and coordination must allow for required tasks to be completed.
Education and Experience:
  • Minimum high school education or equivalent.
  • Trained CNC / lathe operation or CNC Set-Up experienced.
  • Technical training preferred.
