Join America's Favorite Neighborhood Pet Store for a pawsome HR intern opportunity! We're seeking a Human Resources co-op to gain hands-on experience at our Livonia, MI headquarters. This opportunity will allow you to gain real-world HR experience, network with industry professionals, and help support the team members who make our stores pawsitively amazing!
Responsibilities/Qualifications
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will provide a high-level of customer service and support our organization by processing HR master data employee changes such as new hires and data/status changes:
The Human Resources Intern responsibilities include:
  • Processing new/rehires daily in UKG Pro, including tax record & tax set up, Time & Attendance system set up, communication to new hire/leader, and onboarding paperwork filing.
  • Ensuring superior service to employees with questions.
  • Employee filing in UKG Document Management.
  • Assisting the manager with I-9 completion/compliance follow up and UKG Pro system overview.
  • Assisting the team as needed with employee changes such as status changes and separations.
  • Supporting our teams through our workforce management system implementation rollout.
  • Assisting with HR special projects such as documentation updates.

PAWSOME Human Resources Intern Candidates will have:
  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Human Resources or related field.
  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and good academic standing.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
  • Initiative and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Ability to work 32 hours/week in a hybrid work environment.
