Job description


IT Testing Specialists work within Agile teams, actively participating in ceremonies (sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives) to align testing efforts with iterative development cycles. They collaborate with IT staff, product owners, and developers to review system requirements and design, refine test strategy and approach, identify and resolve defects, and provide actionable recommendations on usability and functionality improvements that enhance business processes and user experience.
What You Will Be Doing
Core Testing Responsibilities
  • Develop test strategies, plans, and approaches using risk-based methodology; identify scope, environments, dependencies, constraints, and test case prioritization
  • Design and execute system, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing; ensure comprehensive documentation and requirements traceability
  • Identify automation candidates and prioritize test execution for high-risk/high-impact scenarios
  • Set up test environments, configure software and hardware per specifications, and prepare test data beds for specific test conditions
  • Execute manual and automated test scripts independently and at scale
  • Ensure test results are accurate, thoroughly documented, and appropriately communicated

Defect & Quality Management
  • Document and analyze problems or results inconsistent with expected outcomes
  • Write and coordinate resolution of system defects; manage hand-offs and re-testing
  • Certify applications for release to next testing stage or production environment
  • Generate and distribute periodic testing status reports

Collaboration & Communication
  • Communicate test results and coordinate logistics with Systems Analysts, Developers, IT staff, and leadership
  • Participate in requirements gathering sessions and address incomplete requirements
  • Facilitate and coordinate user acceptance testing
  • Work with developers to create and maintain automated test scripts
  • Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders on exploratory testing
  • Assist product owners in defining acceptance criteria and test conditions for user stories

Technical Skills & Development
  • Create and execute moderately complex SQL queries
  • Demonstrate test automation expertise, preferably with Playwright
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, standups, reviews, retrospectives)
  • Provide technical guidance to other IT Testing Specialists as needed
  • Maintain knowledge of performance and security vulnerability testing
  • Familiar with using AI tools like Windsurf/ Devin/ Codium, Claude Code or Codex,

What We Require
  • 3+ years related work experience in progressive work experience in business and/or system testing
  • High school diploma or GED

What We Prefer
  • Thorough understanding of the business process(s) and flows involved in the system capabilities being tested
  • Thoroughly understands As-Is and To-Be business processes to understand what's changing
  • Ability to communicate with the business in business language and with developers in technical language
  • Must have strong PC skills and demonstrated proficiency in the MS Office Suite products
  • Should have solid work experience with testing management tools and concepts and have a solid knowledge of automated testing tools
  • Must have the ability to extract data utilizing moderately complex SQL queries
  • Ability to read logical and physical data models and understand the relationship between various tables
  • Ability to clearly identify data needs and requirements for the respective test efforts
  • Ability to execute automated test scripts as needed
  • Ability to read various system input/output files like XML, Flat, 834, 835 etc
  • CTFL certification

General Physical Demands
  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects.
  • Jobs are sedentary if traversing activities are required only occasionally.
  • This position may require occasional travel to support business operations, including in office meetings, collaboration, events, and other work related activities.

Typical Annualized Offer/Hiring Range: $71,200 - $89,000
Annualized Salary Range:$71,200 - $115,700
Final pay will be determined with consideration of market competitiveness, internal equity, and the job-related knowledge, skills, training, and experience you bring.
