This position is in our Food Enterprise where we are committed to serving food manufacturers, food service customers, and retailers with a complete range of innovative ingredients and branded products. Our portfolio includes poultry, beef, egg, alternative protein, salt, oils, starches, sweeteners, cocoa and chocolate.

Job Purpose and Impact

The Workers Compensation Coordinator will lead workers compensation programs for the organization, working closely with Health Services, Safety and Production departments in the coordination of rehabilitation programs. In this role, you will be involved with filing and managing claims, submitting and conducting appeals, participating in industry groups and handling claim costs.

Key Accountabilities
  • Responsible for filing and handling claims to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Responsible to facilitate and monitor modified duties programs.
  • Perform claim investigation and filing of appeals for workers compensation board.
  • Responsible for program cost review and analysis and lead initiatives to improve outcomes.
  • Lead work site production visits and return to work planning meetings.
  • Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma/Certificate or bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of two years of related work experience
  • Knowledge of Workers Compensation Board policies and procedures
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Disability Management Certification
  • Experience doing claim investigations
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment
