Warehouse Manager Job Description

Pay: $18.00 per hour
Employment Status: Full-time, hourly
Reports To: Company Leadership
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.; Saturday, 7:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Location: Tonganoxie warehouse and jobsites as needed

Position Summary:
Client is hiring a full-time Warehouse Manager to handle the day-to-day operation of the electrical warehouse. This is a hands-on position responsible for inventory, material staging, receiving, tools, equipment, vehicle stock, deliveries, and warehouse records. The Warehouse Manager works closely with field crews and company leadership to make sure jobs have the correct material when it is needed.

Job Duties

  • Keep accurate inventory records for electrical materials, supplies, tools, and equipment.
  • Perform weekly cycle counts and monthly inventory counts.
  • Research and document inventory differences and negative inventory corrections.
  • Monitor commonly used material, including wire, devices, breakers, fittings, MC cable, EMT, conduit, and related components.
  • Track material by job when needed for job costing.
  • Cut, label, issue, and record wire accurately. Track returned wire and scrap.
  • Pull, verify, and stage material for scheduled jobs and service calls.
  • Let management and field crews know about shortages, backorders, or substitutions as soon as possible.
  • Receive deliveries and check packing slips against purchase orders.
  • Report missing, damaged, duplicated, or incorrect material and help resolve vendor issues.
  • Keep receiving records, packing slips, receipts, returns, and credits organized.
  • Manage the tool and equipment checkout and return process.
  • Track damaged, missing, or unsafe tools and equipment.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely after required training.
  • Load and unload company vehicles, delivery trucks, material, and equipment.
  • Help maintain vehicle stock and warehouse consumables.
  • Keep the warehouse, yard, staging areas, and material storage areas clean and organized.
  • Manage scrap wire collection and recycling as directed.
  • Complete local supplier pickups and jobsite deliveries when needed.
  • Provide regular inventory and warehouse updates to company leadership.
  • Work with field employees, project managers, vendors, and company leadership to keep jobs supplied.
  • Protect company tools, material, equipment, vehicles, keys, and other company property.
  • Complete other warehouse and material-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of electrical materials, components, tools, and terminology.
  • Warehouse, inventory, material handling, logistics, or electrical industry experience preferred.
  • Forklift or warehouse equipment experience preferred. Must be willing to complete required training or certification.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Able to lift and move 50 pounds or more safely.
  • Able to stand, walk, bend, reach, climb, and handle material throughout the workday.
  • Organized, dependable, reliable, and able to follow through on assigned work.
  • Good communication skills and able to work as part of a team.
  • Able to work independently and adjust priorities when job needs change.
  • Comfortable using basic computer or mobile tools for inventory, communication, timekeeping, and records.

Performance Expectations

  • Maintain inventory accuracy of 98% or better.
  • Have job material staged on time and report shortages before they affect the schedule whenever possible.
  • Keep tool, equipment, wire, and material records current.
  • Reduce lost tools, material waste, overages, and emergency material runs.
  • Keep the warehouse and yard clean, safe, and organized.
  • Be reliable, communicate clearly, and follow through on assigned work.

Pay, Schedule, and Time Off

  • $18.00 per hour, paid according to the company's normal payroll schedule.
  • Full-time hourly position.
  • Overtime will be paid as required by law and must be approved in advance, in writing, by the CEO.
  • Full-time hourly employees receive 40 hours of paid vacation per calendar year after six months of continuous employment, subject to the Company Handbook.
