Job description

Town Pump is looking for a motivated and outgoing Store Manager Trainee to join our team. Town Pump is a growing company, with ever increasing opportunities for career growth.
As a Store Manager Trainee, you will:
  • train with the store manager and /or co-manager, to learn the overall operation of the store. Areas to be trained on include but are not limited to, learning to make supervisory decisions that are consistent with Town Pump standards, policies, and procedures.
  • understand controllable expenses, sales increases, inside gross margins, shortage controls, and promotional programs.
  • set an exemplary example for co-workers in terms of professionalism, attitude, and teamwork in the areas of customer service and Convenience Store Operations. Customer service includes communicating with customers and resolving complaints and inquiries.
  • serve as an acting store manager during the store manager's absence (when the co-manager is not available)
  • complete daily bookwork using a computer to record employee information, inventory, and sale information.
  • order supplies and merchandise, inventory merchandise, invoicing merchandise, key in daily sales, merchandising, including receiving, pricing, stocking, displaying, and rotating inventories.
  • complete store maintenance and basic repairs, make bank deposits, and perform light cleaning of the store and restrooms.
  • provide new employee hiring, training, and orientation. Disciplining and/or terminating problem employees.
  • maintain security of all store assets. Control of cash, fuel, and inventories. Control of store merchandise and labor hours.
  • maintain a valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record and complete other duties assigned by management.
