Job description

Shop Technician (Construction Equipment)
$2,000 Sign-On Bonus
Position Overview

With the training and support we provide, Shop Technicians play a critical role in maintaining our reputation for quality, reliability, and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
  • Disassemble, clean, inspect, and reassemble heavy equipment
  • Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on construction equipment
  • Assist with shipping and receiving, including unloading trucks and verifying deliveries
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
  • Conduct routine equipment inspections and light maintenance tasks
  • Operate forklifts and overhead cranes to move parts and components safely
  • Inspect components to determine reusability or replacement needs; order parts as required
  • Utilize diagnostic and testing equipment to troubleshoot and adjust machinery
  • Complete warranty reports and provide recommendations
  • Perform minor welding, fabrication, and alignment work
  • Complete Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDIs)
  • Support other shop functions as needed based on workload
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1-2 years of related experience preferred
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
  • Basic math and computer/data entry skills
  • General mechanical knowledge required
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes
  • Dependable, reliable, and safety-focused
Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Frequent walking, standing, and working on uneven terrain
  • Regular lifting of 50+ pounds
  • Use of hands and arms to operate tools and equipment
  • Climbing in and out of heavy equipment
  • Ability to work in various positions, including kneeling and lying under equipment
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions
  • Communication via radio, phone, and in-person
  • Ability to hear and identify mechanical issues in a shop environment
