Job description

Coastline Equipment is a leading John Deere Construction and Forestry dealer with locations in Southern California, Nevada and Idaho. Coastline provides world-class equipment solutions from John Deere, Wirtgen, Trimble, and Topcon. At their 13 locations, Coastline delivers best-in-class equipment, parts, service and technology solutions for customers. Our team of experts is driven to meet the needs of our customers both where they are today and where they are going tomorrow.
The Meridian, ID team accepts applications year-round for our Shop Technician roles. While we may not have an immediate opening for this role, we regularly review submissions and keep qualified candidates in mind for future opportunities. Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnostics and Repairs: Perform diagnostics and repairs on John Deere equipment and technology, both in the shop and in the field.
  • Workplace Safety: Perform tasks in accordance with all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Documentation: Ensure complete and thorough documentation of diagnostics and repairs, and timely submission of information.
  • Training: Participate in Service Training programs for skill and knowledge development.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Operate and maintain vehicles, tools, and equipment.
  • Product Knowledge: Stay updated on John Deere and competitive products.

Required Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required Service Repairs:
  • Experience: Experience performing service repairs and consistently meeting performance metrics.
  • Technical Expertise: Experience with repairs and maintenance using special tools and Technical Manual procedures, particularly on specialized machines.
  • Mechanical Background: Ability to perform complex repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following technical manual procedures. Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in off-road, construction, or heavy equipment.
  • Diagnostic Skills: Experience operating vehicles, tools, and equipment for diagnostics.
  • Computer Proficiency: Basic computer skills; experience with Service ADVISOR™ or similar diagnostic tools preferred.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication.
  • Toolset: Possession of toolset in alignment with the company's requirements of the role. Tool checklist will be completed in the interviewing process.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical Degree or Certificates: Advanced or Master Service Technician certifications and degree in Diesel Repairs, Heavy Equipment Technology, or related field.
  • Industry Knowledge: Previous experience working on the John Deere line and competitive products.

Physical Requirements
  • Safety Sensitive Clearances: Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Physical Conditions: Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
