What we expect from youWendy's crew members are responsible for utilizing a knowledge of positional skills, customer service and courtesy, health and safety regulations and all Wendy's food safety, safety and security and employee policies and procedures. The crew member position is responsible for providing quality products and service in a clean and safe environment to each and every customer. 

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The essential functions of the various crew member positions within the restaurant are listed below.  Each position does not exist in every restaurant and sales volume dictates which positions will be used and for how long on each shift. Immediately before and after peak volume periods and during all slow periods, it is customary for crew members to "bump and slide" in positions that do not compromise food safety. This process means that during certain periods, a crew member will work several positions within a short period of time while adhering to food safety standards. Delivering quality food orders within specified service time goals is fundamental to the nature of Wendy's business. Each employee must be able to execute his/her position with a speed sufficient to contribute to the overall goals and objectives.

Crew member positions and responsibilities are:

  • Operating the grill, fry and sandwich stations following all Wendy's procedural and food safety standards. 
  • Coordinating, assembling and presenting customer orders following all procedural and food safety standards. This includes bagging orders to include all necessary items for drive thru customers, assembling orders on trays for dining room customers and assembling mobile and delivery orders.
  • Operating cash registers and handling customer payments to company standard, following all policies and procedures for handling of payments.
  • Interacting with customers in a prompt, courteous manner.
  • Completing assigned cleaning tasks.
  • Prepping food products such as bacon, vegetables and condiments for sandwich stations and prepping salads. 
  • Cleaning and preparation duties required to open and close the restaurant.
  • Restocking and cleaning work stations throughout the day
The above listed responsibilities require you to have the ability to:

  • Stand for long periods of time.
  • Work around equipment that creates heat.
  • Work in an environment with noise.
  • Wear a headset to hear customer orders.
  • Bend, lift and reach.
  • To see and read customer orders on a kitchen screen.
  • Hear and understand verbal instruction.
  • Remain calm and pleasant attitude during stressful situations.
  • Arrive at work on time for all scheduled shifts. 
  • Demonstrate good people skills in dealing with customers
  • Have a "teamwork" attitude and be able to contribute the efficient operation of the shift. 
  • To present a neat, well-groomed appearance and have good personal hygiene at all times. This includes strict adherence to the dress code policy.
  • Handle stressful situations while maintaining a calm, pleasant attitude and efficient working pace.
