Job Overview
We are looking for a personable, motivated Automotive Service Writer to be the primary point of contact for our valued customers. In this crucial front-desk role, you will be the liaison between our customers and our expert technicians, ensuring a seamless and satisfactory repair experience. Your ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and manage a busy workflow will be key to your success and our continued customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
  • Promptly greet customers in person and handle telephone inquiries in a courteous and friendly manner.
  • Listen attentively to customers' descriptions of vehicle symptoms and concerns, asking clarifying questions to accurately document issues on repair orders.
  • Provide clear, jargon-free explanations of recommended services, repair processes, costs, and timelines to manage customer expectations effectively.
  • Develop accurate estimates for parts and labor, obtain customer approval for all work, and process payments upon job completion.
  • Coordinate and schedule service appointments efficiently, ensuring a balanced workload for our technicians.
  • Monitor the progress of all work in progress, promptly notifying customers of any changes, delays, or additional work needed.
  • Work closely with the technicians to ensure all necessary materials are available and information is accurately relayed.
  • Handle customer complaints reasonably and professionally, demonstrating empathy and a commitment to resolving issues and building loyalty.
  • Maintain accurate customer and vehicle records using our shop management computer system.

Qualifications & Skills
