Job description

Job Purpose

Statehouse servers assist our guests by setting tables; keeping water and coffee glasses full; adhering to sanitation and safety policies; clearing and cleaning tables and chairs and keeping an overall clean work environment throughout the restaurant. All Statehouse staff work with a teamwork mentality by offering support to all other colleagues in the restaurant. If you have an interest in becoming a fine-dining server, this is a great position to start your journey in and learn with the best!

Responsibilities

Specific duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Prepares dining room for patrons by cleaning tables; stocking service stations; setting up bread station and AM beverage station. Keep all condiments, sauces and butters stocked, clean and organized. Assist Servers in replenishing table items for dining guests, assist Servers in delivering prepared food & beverage items to table.
  • Protects establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation and safety policies.
  • Maintains table setting by removing courses as completed; replenishing utensils; refilling water glasses; being alert and proactive to patron spills or other special needs. Maintains a clean restaurant including the floor, windows and doors.
  • Supports tables by running food and beverages when needed.
  • Interacts with guests during various points of the dining experience to ensure that they have everything that they need.
  • Completes server training program with the opportunity to advance into a full server role.
  • Supports wait staff by setting-up and replenishing trash containers liners and bus stations.
  • Closes dining facility resetting chairs and tables; removing trash and recyclables from the facility.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in staff training and pre-shift opportunities.
  • Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Preform other duties as assigned by the department head.

Conditions

This position operates in a full-service, professional restaurant environment. Servers are required to use standard restaurant equipment such as commercial glassware and plate ware cleaning systems, etc. Their work can require them to move through our kitchen areas as well when receiving food orders and returning dishware. This position requires evening/weekend work.
