A substantial part of the 200-acre Viking Lakes mixed-use development, this destination is home to the Minnesota Vikings headquarters, Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center and TCO Stadium. The location is easily accessible from downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul, the Mall of America and airport, with additional uses for the planned development to include corporate offices, retail, restaurants and entertainment.
The 320-room luxury hotel features more than 35,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and pre-function space, including a 7,500-square-foot ballroom, a 4,410-square-foot event center and six two-story hospitality lounges for groups and meeting planners to utilize. From small board meetings, conferences and large galas or special events to Sunday football tailgates and more, the Omni Viking Lakes Hotel accommodates groups of all sizes with its robust meetings offerings, multiple food and beverage venues, a signature spa and state-of-the-art fitness facilities.
Omni Viking Lakes Hotel is seeking an Outlet Server. This team member is responsible for courteously wait on and serve the guests of the hotel, delivering extraordinary customer service, in accordance with Omni standards.

Salary for this position starts at: $11.41/hour plus gratuities. Omni Viking Lakes Hotel reserves the right to pay more or less than listed compensation scale based on factors not related to sex or race. Essential Job Functions:
  • Provide outstanding service to restaurant guests in a friendly and professional manner, following proper steps of service standards.
  • Supports new Omni Safe and Clean protocols throughout the spa to support Omni's Covid-19 related sanitation protocols.
  • Must maintain complete knowledge of food and beverage offerings, including wine service.
  • Have a complete understanding of floor plan, table numbers, and seat numbers.
  • Deliver food to correct tables according to ticket, floor plan, and seat numbers.
  • Be pleasant, smile and greet all guests, using surnames when obtained.
  • Take food and beverage orders and upsell as often as possible.
  • Tend to all needs of the guest during their visit to the restaurant.
  • Must be familiar with and adhere to all liquor liability laws.
  • Communicate with culinary team regarding meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests.
  • Send orders using MICROS system, present accurate check to guest and process payment.
  • Complete station set-up and breakdown/side-work, including:
  • Ensure salt and pepper, and sugar caddies are always full.
  • Polish and clean all water glassware in assigned station during each shift.
  • Maintain tabletop items and fold napkins according to specified standards.
  • Bus tables whenever needed due to circumstances. Dust all tables to include table legs.
  • Alert the manager immediately if a member or guest has a suggestion, complaint, or issue.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the restaurant.
  • Assist in the orientation and training of new associates.
  • Assist in seating guests and answering phones for restaurant and room service as needed.
  • Cross train among other food and beverage outlets as needed.
  • Maintain knowledge of the property and its amenities.
  • Ensuring all products are within date and using the FIFO method of storage.
  • Report to the restaurant Supervisor or management any need for housekeeping and/or repairs of restaurant space or equipment.
  • Must be able to set tables to specifications and carry trays.
  • Attend department meetings and other required company training.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications
  • Must be at a minimum of 18 years old.
  • Two years serving experience.
  • Previous serving and guest service experience required, upscale hotel or resort experience is strongly preferred.
  • Must have and maintain current TIPS, ServSafe or equivalent alcohol training.
  • MICROS Experience preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively.
  • Must consistently demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, be teamwork-oriented, and exhibit a positive attitude.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
  • Must agree and adhere to compensation acknowledgment and tip reporting guidelines.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period or for an entire shift.
  • Must be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.

Working Environment:
  • Interior of restaurant kitchen and designated bar area, with occasional travel around the property as needed.
  • Exposure to a kitchen environment with high temperatures.
  • Exterior of Hotel with exposure to weather conditions.
  • Exposure to Food and Beverage hazardous cleaning chemicals.
  • Exposure to food items and beverages.

  • MICROS Computer and Card, Open Table, Kronos, Telephone, Wine Key, Knife.
