Description:
The PMO Technical Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the Program Management Office within the Public Safety and Professional Communications division. This position provides technical expertise and operational support for project management tools and reporting capabilities. The role is responsible for maintaining and optimizing user interfaces within Microsoft Project Server, SharePoint, Power BI reporting, and related processes to enable efficient program and project execution and reporting across the portfolio. The ideal candidate combines strong technical skills with a solid understanding of project management principles to help streamline operations and support Program Managers in delivering high-quality results.
Essential Functions:
*Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to Program Managers and project teams on *Microsoft Project and Microsoft Project Server issues.
*Design, configure, and maintain custom lists, fields, views, and workflows in Microsoft Project Server and associated Project SharePoint sites.
*Develop, maintain, and enhance Power BI reports and dashboards; troubleshoot and resolve reporting issues as they arise.
*Collaborate with IT teams to support data integration needs, leveraging basic SQL knowledge to facilitate accurate data extraction and reporting.
*Support the review, revision, and streamlining of PMO process documents, templates, and guidance materials to enhance efficiency and promote consistency.
*Provide support and guidance on Microsoft Project and broader project management best practices within the PMO.
*Support continuous improvement initiatives related to PMO tools, systems, and processes.
Qualifications:
*Bachelor"s degree in business, Information Systems, Project Management, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
*Experience creating and maintaining Power BI or Tableau reports and dashboards.
*Working knowledge of SharePoint, including site administration and list management.
*Basic understanding of SQL for data querying and troubleshooting.
*General knowledge of project management principles and methodologies.
*Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
*Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
*Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed organization.
Preferred Additional Skills:
*3 - 5 years of relevant PMO or project support experience.
*PMP certification or formal project management training.
*Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Project Server (on premises) and Power BI, including DAX and data modeling.
*Experience streamlining processes and creating/maintaining procedural documentation.
*2+ years of hands-on experience supporting Microsoft Project / Project Server in a professional environment.
