Utility - Big Chill Island House
Summary of Position: Are you ready to work in a place with mesmerizing views of sunsets on the Intracoastal Waterway? If you thrive in a vibrant atmosphere and enjoy being an integral part of a dynamic team, we have an exciting opportunity for you at Big Chill Island House. Join us and contribute to the success of North Myrtle Beach's premier waterfront hotspot. As a Utility team member (Busser/Food Runner) at Big Chill Island House, you will be a key player in creating a seamless dining experience for our guests. Your role will involve clearing tables, assisting with food delivery, and maintaining the overall cleanliness and efficiency of the restaurant. Communicating effectively with the kitchen and waitstaff, the Utility team member will ensure accurate and timely food service to our guests. If you are quick on your feet, Come Chill with us!
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Clear tables after guests leave and take tableware to the dish room
  • Between settings promptly clean table tops, chairs and booths. Check the floor and clean as required. Reset and arrange the tabletop.
  • Return clean side plates, cups, and silverware to server stations
  • Respond appropriately to guest requests. Communicate guest requests to the server immediately
  • Deliver food to tables using pivot points
  • Remove trash from all areas and transport to the main trash area
  • Thank guests as they are leaving and consistently demonstrate good customer service skills
  • Show flexibility in terms of your schedule to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.
  • Maintain a high level of personal cleanliness
  • Be a team player; Help out fellow employees when possible.
  • Complete daily side work, before, during and at the end of each shift.
  • Live the brand and be a brand ambassador; make decisions in the best interest of the business at all times

Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • No previous restaurant experience required.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Carry heavy trays (20LBS at least) for long periods of time.
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
  • Ability to maintain a calm professional demeanor during periods of uncertainty or crisis.
  • Ability to stand, reach, bend, squat, and lift during shift. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
  • Must have reliable transportation to/from work
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
