Digital Marketing Specialist: Reddit & SEO

About the Role 

We are looking for a Digital Marketing Specialist to help grow and manage our brand presence across Reddit while supporting select SEO initiatives. This role is ideal for someone who understands how online communities work, knows how to build trust without sounding overly promotional, and can turn customer conversations into useful marketing insights. They are a strong writer, a good listener, and someone who can turn real customer conversations into smarter marketing, better content, and stronger brand trust.

The role will focus approximately 80% on Reddit/community marketing and 20% on SEO support.

Key Responsibilities:

Reddit & Community Marketing - 80%

  • Manage brands on the Reddit platform. Duties include but are not limited to: 
    • Manage the brand's day-to-day presence on Reddit, including monitoring relevant subreddits, conversations, questions, and brand mentions. Write thoughtful Reddit comments and posts that align with community expectations.
    • Develop a Reddit content calendars for our sub-Reddits based on trending topics, seasonal opportunities, and community needs.
    • Track frequently asked questions, objections, complaints, and sentiment from Reddit discussions.
    • Escalate customer issues, reputation risks, misinformation, or sensitive conversations to the appropriate internal team.
    • Work with our legal, regulatory, and CARE teams to tailor all messaging.
  • Support reputation management efforts by identifying conversations where the brand can clarify, educate, or provide helpful context.
  • Track Reddit performance metrics such as post engagement, comment engagement, referral traffic, sentiment, and meaningful brand interactions.
     

SEO Support - 20%

  • Support SEO content projects, such as content briefs, page updates, and blog optimization.
  • Optimize existing website content for clarity, search intent, internal linking, and on-page SEO best practices.
  • Conduct basic competitor and SERP research to understand how top-ranking pages are structured.
  • Help maintain content calendars and SEO project trackers.
  • Assist with reporting on organic traffic, rankings, engagement, and content performance.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 3 years of experience in digital marketing, community management, SEO, content marketing, social media, or a related role.
  • Experience with reputation management, customer support, or brand monitoring.
    • Comfortable monitoring online conversations and identifying themes, risks, and opportunities.
  • Strong understanding of Reddit culture, subreddit etiquette, and community-driven platforms.
  • Strong research skills and ability to quickly understand customer questions, industry topics, and competitor positioning.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple conversations and projects at once.
  • WordPress CMS experience.
  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to sound natural, helpful, and human.
  • Basic understanding of SEO, including keywords, search intent, on-page optimization, internal linking, and content structure.
  • Comfortable working with Google and SEO tools, like Google Search Console, SEMrush, and Sheets/Excel.

  • Experience managing a brand account on Reddit and other community-first platforms.

Compensation (Canada Only): $68,740 - $92,800 CAD Annual. *This range reflects base pay only. This role is also eligible for an annual incentive plan based on company & personal performance.
