Senior QA Manager-Remote Overview

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior QA Manager to lead quality assurance across a diverse portfolio of customer-facing and operational technology platforms. This role will be responsible for the overall QA strategy, testing governance, release quality, and operational readiness of systems including Point of Sale (POS), Kitchen Display Systems (KDS), mobile applications, web applications, self-service kiosks, third-party integrations, and back-of-house edge server environments.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience within the Retail and/or Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) industry and understands the unique challenges of high-volume transactional systems, order management workflows, payment processing, loyalty programs, and multi-platform integrations. This leader will oversee quality initiatives across multiple technology teams while partnering closely with Product, Engineering, Operations, and business stakeholders to ensure reliable, scalable, and customer-focused solutions.

Primary Areas of Focus

Retail & QSR Technology Expertise

  • Strong understanding of Retail and preferably Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) technology ecosystems.
  • Familiarity with restaurant operations, order fulfillment workflows, menu management, payment processing, loyalty programs, and customer-facing technologies.
  • Experience supporting high-volume transactional environments where system reliability and uptime are critical.

Multi-Platform Quality Ownership

  • Provide QA leadership and oversight across:
    • POS (Point of Sale) systems
    • KDS (Kitchen Display Systems)
    • Mobile applications
    • Web applications
    • Self-service kiosks
    • Third-party integrations
    • Back-of-house edge server platforms
  • Ensure consistent quality standards, testing coverage, and release readiness across all technology platforms.

End-to-End Integration & Transactional Testing

  • Validate complex workflows spanning customer ordering, payment processing, kitchen operations, loyalty systems, reporting, and fulfillment.
  • Ensure seamless data flow and interoperability between internal applications and external partners.
  • Drive end-to-end testing across interconnected systems and environments.

QA Leadership & Governance

  • Lead QA teams and testing efforts across multiple products and initiatives.
  • Establish testing standards, processes, quality metrics, and release governance practices.
  • Provide quality status reporting, risk assessments, and release recommendations to leadership.
  • Drive continuous improvement in quality, automation, and delivery effectiveness.

Required Experience

  • Experience leading QA teams in Retail, Hospitality, Restaurant Technology, or QSR environments.
  • Proven success managing quality assurance across multiple integrated technology platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of POS systems, KDS platforms, payment processing, loyalty programs, mobile applications, web applications, and backend systems.
  • Experience validating complex integrations, APIs, and transactional workflows.
  • Strong understanding of manual and automated testing methodologies.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, leadership, and communication skills.

Highly Preferred

  • Direct experience in a Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) environment.
  • Experience supporting enterprise POS and KDS platforms.
  • Experience testing kiosk, mobile ordering, loyalty, delivery, and payment ecosystems.
  • Familiarity with back-of-house and edge server architectures.
