Job description

CLA is a top 10 national professional services firm where our purpose is to create opportunities every day, for our clients, our people, and our communities through industry-focused wealth advisory, digital, audit, tax, consulting, and outsourcing services. Even with more than 8,500 people, 130 U.S. locations, and a global reach, we promise to know you and help you.
A platform built for durable, organic growth.
Our advisors average $250M in AUM across ~120 households and continue to grow ~10% net new AUM annually-without Schwab or Fidelity referral programs. That growth is fueled by access to 100,000+ individual tax clients and 75,000 privately held businesses, creating one of the deepest organic prospect pipelines in the industry.
Why this role matters now:
The wealth landscape is changing in a meaningful way: women are increasingly the primary decision-makers for household wealth, and pivotal life transitions often create moments where the right advisor relationship matters most. In our Women & Wealth vision, CLA is focused on becoming the trusted advisor of choice for high-net-worth women and women-led businesses, delivering personalized tax and wealth strategies that protect legacy and align financial decisions with life goals.
We're selectively adding senior wealth advisors in key markets and offer a highly competitive compensation structure designed for experienced professionals.
About the role:
CLA is looking to hire a Senior Wealth Advisor to work in our Eau Claire, WI or Wausau, WI office.
The SWA serves as a relationship manager providing Total Wealth Advisory-a comprehensive, planning-led experience anchored in a personal financial plan and spanning a client's financial and tax needs.
Senior Wealth Advisors bring advanced knowledge across tax, investments, financial planning, insurance, and estate and retirement planning. You'll manage a book of client relationships, lead client strategy, and delegate work appropriately to deliver a high-touch experience with strong follow-through.
This role is ideal for an advisor who thrives in an environment where:
  • Planning and tax integration elevate the advice (and client stickiness)
  • Growth is powered by real, organic access-not paid lead programs
  • Client relationships include complexity, transitions, and multi-generational needs (including women navigating moments like business liquidity, divorce, widowhood, caregiving, and career shifts)

Essential Job Functions
  • Financial Planning: Gather data from clients in the planning process. Oversee and delegate financial planning work. Deliver financial plans to clients and make recommendations.
  • Client Support: Manage existing & new referral relationships.
  • Technical Competencies: Maintain a working knowledge/competency of appropriate systems applications utilized by firm. Proficient with Microsoft (MS) Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Adobe.

Requirements:
Experience:
  • Minimum of EIGHT (8) years of progressively responsible financial services experience.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree is required. Combination of relevant experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field preferred.

Certifications/Licenses:
  • FINRA Series 65 or 66 Required.
  • Existing Transferrable Book of Business Preferred.
  • CFP® certification or equivalent required. Relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of certification.

This role is eligible for discretionary bonuses based on company performance and other factors.
