Position Summary

Mud Pie is a leading lifestyle brand specializing in home décor, gifts, and apparel, known for creating thoughtfully designed products that celebrate life's everyday moments. We are a collaborative organization with a strong focus on creativity, quality, and delivering products our customers love.

Mud Pie is seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Vice President of Sales to serve as a key member of the leadership team. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this role is responsible for developing and executing the Company's overall commercial strategy, leading a high-performing sales organization, and driving sustainable revenue growth across all wholesale channels.

This is one of the Company's critical leadership positions, responsible for translating business strategy into commercial execution while building strong customer relationships and fostering collaboration across the organization. The Senior Vice President of Sales will partner closely with Product Development, Merchandising, Marketing, Customer Experience, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and Executive Leadership to ensure a seamless customer experience, bring compelling products to market, and position Mud Pie for continued growth.

The ideal candidate is an accomplished sales leader with a proven track record of growing revenue, developing high-performing teams, strengthening customer partnerships, identifying new business opportunities, and leading organizations through periods of growth and transformation.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesExecutive Leadership
  • Develop and execute the Company's overall sales strategy to drive profitable, sustainable revenue growth across all wholesale channels.
  • Serve as a strategic member of the leadership team, contributing to overall business planning, organizational priorities, and long-term growth initiatives.
  • Establish annual sales objectives, revenue targets, budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics aligned with Company goals.
  • Lead and optimize the Company's independent sales representative network by establishing clear performance expectations, coaching and developing agency partners, evaluating territory effectiveness, and ensuring consistent execution against Company’s objectives.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing sales organization focused on accountability, collaboration, customer partnership, and results.
Sales Strategy & Business Growth
  • Drive revenue growth through expansion of existing customer relationships while identifying and securing new business opportunities.
  • Develop sales strategies that maximize market share, improve customer retention, and strengthen Mud Pie's position within the marketplace.
  • Lead customer segmentation, account planning, forecasting, and sales performance management.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive activity, and customer insights to identify emerging opportunities and potential risks.
  • Evaluate new channels, partnerships, and strategic growth opportunities.
Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Partner closely with Merchandising and Product Development to ensure assortments align with customer needs, market trends, and sales opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to develop customer-focused campaigns, sales tools, promotional strategies, and go-to-market initiatives.
  • Work alongside Customer Experience to ensure exceptional service, strong customer retention, and consistent execution across every customer touchpoint.
  • Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance to improve forecasting accuracy, inventory planning, fulfillment, profitability, and operational efficiency.
  • Foster strong communication and alignment across departments to ensure organizational priorities are executed effectively.
Customer & Commercial Leadership
  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships with key customers and strategic partners.
  • Lead complex customer negotiations and business reviews while identifying opportunities to expand partnerships.
  • Oversee sales reporting, forecasting, pipeline management, and performance analytics to drive informed decision-making.
  • Build strong partnerships with independent sales agencies through regular business reviews, field engagement, performance coaching, and accountability for customer growth and market development.
  • Represent Mud Pie at major trade shows, customer meetings, industry events, and strategic partner engagements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 15+ years of progressive sales leadership experience within wholesale consumer products, home décor, gift, apparel, lifestyle, or related industries.
  • Proven leadership experience leading high-performing sales organizations with responsibility for revenue growth, forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning.
  • Demonstrated success developing new business while expanding existing customer relationships.
  • Strong understanding of wholesale distribution, retail partnerships, and national account management.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies that drive measurable business results.
  • Demonstrated success leading and developing independent sales representative organizations and/or geographically dispersed outside sales teams.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives involving Sales, Customer Experience, Marketing, Merchandising, Product Development, Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance.
  • Exceptional leadership, coaching, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen with experience leveraging data to drive strategic decisions.
  • Ability to influence at all levels of the organization while fostering a collaborative, team-oriented culture.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support customers, industry events, and business initiatives.
