Sanford Worthington Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Clinic is seeking a BE/BC Orthopedic Surgeon. At the center of Sanford's rural footprint in southwest Minnesota. Sanford Worthington is a resource of services to surrounding Critical Access Hospitals, working in conjunction with Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD.
Join a multi-specialist practice of nearly 30 Physicians and APP's
No Call position, allows for work-life balance
Fellowship trained Orthopedic Sports Medicine surgeons are encouraged to apply
This practice also boasts a strong therapy department and three athletic trainers providing service to athletes
Hospitalist services available for adult patients that require inpatient care
Sanford Worthington Medical Center has 3T MRI, CT, blood bank and four large OR suites

Job Description

Orthopedic Surgery Core Privileges include the ability to perform history and physical examination, admit, evaluate, diagnose, and provide pre-, intra-, and postoperative care and perform orthopedic surgical procedures for patients of all ages - except where specifically excluded from practice.

Qualifications

M.D. or D.O. degree.
Experience can be demonstrated in one of the following ways:An applicant who has just completed a residency or Fellowship shall provide his/her residency or Fellowship log.ORAn applicant who is not applying directly out of a residency shall provide a quality profile from hospital(s) where he/she currently has privileges showing his/her clinical activity for the past 24 months, including numbers of procedures performed morbidity, mortality, infection rates, and other complications. The applicant must be able to demonstrate at least 200 orthopedic surgeryprocedures in the last 24 months.ORIf a quality profile is not available from the hospital(s) where the applicant currently has privileges, documentation of the applicant's hospital-based clinical activity for the past 24 months is required. The applicant must be able to demonstrate at least 200 orthopedic surgery procedures in the last 24 months.More education and experience may be required the more advanced the practice becomes.
Successful completion of a hospital affiliated orthopedic surgical residency program or a clinical Fellowship of at least five years' duration accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada in the residency. Training at residency programs accredited by organizations other than the above may be considered by the; Credentials Committee; Physician Executive or Medical Affairs Committee; and the Board of Directors or the Board of Governors.Certification by the appropriate specialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable. For those applicants that are not board certified at the time of application, but who have completed their residency training within the last five years; must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their residency training unless appropriate governing Board (Refer to each entities policy for grandfather exceptions) waives such requirement.Privileging documents and related credentialing requirements will supersede this job description in defining minimum qualifications, criteria, and scope of practice, if variation between documents exists.

Compensation

Sanford Health offers a nationally competitive compensation plan with an additional physician benefits package including a health, dental and vision insurance, 401K plan, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, CME allowance, allowed time away, malpractice insurance and tail coverage, and a relocation allowance.
Annual compensation floor range (based on 1.0 FTE): $631,148 - $816,780 plus estimated potential to exceed compensation floor from personally performed wRVUs.
Additional incentives may be offered. Actual compensation offers may vary and are determined based on multiple factors including education, training, certification, experience, scope of practice and actual job requirements.
