About The Role

At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. Join our diverse team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!

As a sr. webcast production manager, you'll join a team of creative thinkers, broadcasters, and technologists to dream, plan, and execute high-end live broadcasts of our spaceflight programs. You'll coordinate ideas and details with each program's operations teams, and communicate with executives to earn their trust as you tell the story of spaceflight history in the making.

We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!

Special Mentions:
  • In-office position
  • Relocation provided
  • Travel expected up to 40% of the time
  • Interviews will include a technical assessment
  • Merritt Island, FL or Kent, WA locations
Key Responsibilities:
  • Own the endโ€‘toโ€‘end production process for live webcasts, ensuring flawless execution from planning to delivery for highโ€‘profile rocket launches, both New Shepard and New Glenn. Preproduction planning for upcoming shows, live production during the show, and postโ€‘production team recaps.
  • Develop and manage production timelines, coordinating schedules for hosts, talent, technology staff, and remote guests to meet strict deadlines.
  • Write and refine rundowns for shows, coโ€‘owning script writing with hosts/talent, aligning content with event goals and executive expectations.
  • Source and secure onโ€‘air talent from inside and outside of Blue Origin, depending on the show, ensuring theyโ€™re briefed, prepared, and aligned with the webcastโ€™s vision.
  • Collaborate with the technology team to define requirements for camera setups, video encoding, live vehicle data integration, radio feeds, and remote reporters and guests, with connectivity via LiveU, Zoom or similar platforms.
  • Produce the liveโ€‘onโ€‘set show, using comms systems to direct hosts with a stream of realโ€‘time information from Mission Control and enable them to improvise talking points per our PR standards.
  • Verify technical readiness, holding technologists accountable for delivering reliable, highโ€‘quality solutions (e.g., 30+ camera feeds across multiple locations, seamless signal transmissions, telemetry software operations, etc).
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all webcast stakeholdersโ€”executives, creative team, and technologistsโ€”ensuring alignment and addressing issues in real time.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot live broadcasts, making rapid decisions to maintain quality and resolve disruptions under pressure.
  • Ensure executive standards are met, delivering polished, detailโ€‘perfect webcasts that reflect the companyโ€™s commitment to excellence.

  • Stay informed on production technology trends, enabling effective communication with the tech team to optimize tools and workflows.
  • Lead postโ€‘event wrapโ€‘ups. Gather feedback, review performance metrics, and oversee archiving of content.
Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of experience in live event production, broadcast, or webcast management, with a proven track record of delivering highโ€‘stakes, flawless live programming.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead endโ€‘toโ€‘end production, including scripting, talent coordination, and technical oversight, preferably for audiences with exacting standards.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience owning complex schedules, coordinating multiple stakeholders, and meeting tight deadlines under pressure.
  • Working knowledge of broadcast technology, such as multiโ€‘camera setups, video encoding, live data integration, and virtual guest platforms (e.g., Zoom), sufficient to collaborate effectively with technical teams.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to anticipate issues, troubleshoot in real time, and deliver polished results that satisfy senior executive scrutiny.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of bridging creative vision with technical execution and managing relationships with hosts, talent, and technologists.
  • Experience as a single point of accountability (or similar leadership role) for live productions, ensuring all elements align seamlessly from concept to completion.
  • Comfort operating in highโ€‘pressure, fastโ€‘paced environments, with a calm, decisive approach to resolving challenges during live events.
  • Creative problemโ€‘solving mindset, with a history of innovating workflows or solutions to enhance production quality and efficiency.
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in media production, communications, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience); advanced certifications in production or project management are a plus.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
