Job description

Overview
The Senior Learning Management Administrator is responsible for the advanced administration, configuration, and optimization of the organizer's Learning Management System (LMS). This role ensures accurate training records, supports compliance requirements, delivers reporting and analytics and serves as a subject matter expert for LMS processes and functionality. The position also provides guidance to junior administrators and partners with cross-functional teams to improve learning operations and system effectiveness. This role is onsite in the Groton shipyard location.
Compliance & Training Governance
  • Administer and maintain the LMS platform, ensuring system stability and data integration
  • Configure learning assignments, curricula, certifications and learning paths
  • Manage users' roles, permissions and system access
  • Troubleshoot and resolve escalated LMS issues
  • Execute scheduling based upon forecasted demand and emergent requests
  • Manage the scheduling of new employee training and provide completions within the LMS
  • Maintain weekly training schedules
  • Process completions from classroom attendance rosters
  • Validate entry of data into Cornerstone
  • Monitor mandatory training records for audit readiness
  • Support internal and external audits
  • Collaborate with Compliance, HR and Legal teams to meet regulatory requirements
  • Investigate and resolve training discrepancies or data issues
  • Manage and resolve instructor-led training (ILT) related inquiries via Outlook, phone, Teams, or in-person
  • Coordinate on the implementation of the training delivery plan with responsible coordinator and/or program lead
  • Coordinate instructor scheduling and room reservations in support of training needs
  • Coordinate and dispatch necessary training-related notifications
  • Assign certifications as part of a completion process, when applicable
  • Manage large scheduling projects
  • Oversee the utilization of classroom scheduling to support the needs of multiple departments
  • Manage and maintain all process documentation and tools

User Support & Issue Resolution
  • Serve as escalation point for complex LMS support issues
  • Provide guidance to learning, manager and instructor
  • Troubleshot system access, enrollment and course issues

Process Improvement & Leadership
  • Lead LMS Process improvement initiatives
  • Develop and maintain standard operation procedures (SOPs) & MDD's
  • Train and mentor junior LMS administrators
  • Partner and provide solutions for system enhancements for process improvement
  • Works under limited supervision - work is of sound judgement and overall adequacy and accuracy

Qualifications
Required
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Moderate to advanced Excel Proficiency
    • Formatting functions for real time scheduling updates
    • V lookups/Pivot tables/Match Data/Basic Formulas
  • 5+ years of experience in LMS administration or training management

Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, Education, Psychology, IT, Computer Science or Data Analytics (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience with global/enterprise LMS platforms
  • 7+ years of experience in LMS administration or learning operations
  • Previous experience working with Electric Boat's business systems, including Outlook and ATTICTs, Cornerstone on Demand, Skills Reporter Tool
  • Prior experience coordinating instructor led training (ILT) sessions, managing training logistics, and/or maintaining training records.
  • Experience with the administrative side of Cornerstone on Demand and Skills Reporter Tool
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel proficiency
    • Reporting, Dashboards and Visual Enhancements - Write and maintain advanced Excel macros, VBA scripts, and complex formulas
  • Experience with system integrations or HRIS platforms
  • Project management experience
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (i.e. Power BI)
