Job description

We are seeking an experienced Observability and Monitoring Engineer to design, implement, and support enterprise monitoring solutions using Splunk, Dynatrace, and related tools. The role focuses on application performance monitoring, proactive incident detection, automation, and operational stability across enterprise environments.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Deploy and configure Dynatrace across Windows, Linux, and Mainframe environments.
  • Onboard applications into Splunk using forwarders, source types, indexing, and best practices.
  • Create and maintain monitoring dashboards, reports, alerts, saved searches, and automated workflows.
  • Implement full-stack observability including APM, infrastructure monitoring, log analytics, synthetic monitoring, and distributed tracing.
  • Configure Splunk integrations, including DB Connect inputs and new data connections.
  • Develop automation scripts and workflows using Python, Perl, Unix Shell, and APIs.
  • Define tagging strategies, alerting policies, retention policies, and monitoring governance standards.
  • Integrate monitoring platforms with ITSM tools for incident management and workflow automation.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and support application teams to improve system reliability.
  • Create SOPs, technical documentation, and conduct knowledge transfer sessions.
  • Drive proactive monitoring, reduce incident resolution time, and improve application stability.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or equivalent technical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT Operations, Production Support, or Monitoring Engineering.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Splunk and Dynatrace monitoring platforms.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as ITRS Geneos and Remedy/MyITSM.
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle, Teradata databases, Unix/Linux environments, and scripting.
  • Experience with job scheduling tools such as Autosys.
  • Proficiency in Python, Perl, and Unix Shell scripting.
  • Understanding of ITIL processes, including Incident and Problem Management.
  • Experience supporting production environments with rotational after-hours support.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with technical teams, business stakeholders, and senior management.
  • Experience in the financial/banking industry is preferred.
