  • Serve as a senior technical resource for roadway design, including horizontal and vertical alignments, roadway modeling, plans, specifications, estimates, design reports, and technical memorandums.
  • Coordinate with clients, public agencies, municipalities, utilities, permitting agencies, and other project stakeholders to advance projects from planning through final design and construction.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with MDOT and local transportation agencies throughout Michigan, serving as a trusted advisor and technical point of contact on assigned projects.
  • Participate in business development activities, including client meetings, relationship-building activities, opportunity identification, pursuit strategy, proposal development, interviews, and presentations.
  • Support the development and execution of client account strategies designed to strengthen existing relationships and expand AECOM’s transportation portfolio throughout Michigan.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of client priorities, capital programs, procurement strategies, and upcoming transportation needs to position AECOM for future opportunities.
  • Support project managers and business development leaders in developing capture strategies, scopes of work, fee estimates, and proposals for MDOT and municipal transportation clients.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and other transportation staff.
  • Perform quality control reviews of roadway plans, calculations, specifications, reports, and other project deliverables.
  • Develop construction cost estimates and provide input into project budgets, schedules, and technical approaches.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and subconsultants to deliver high-quality transportation projects.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline.
  • 10+ years of transportation engineering experience with a strong background in roadway design and delivery of transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Established relationships with MDOT and/or Michigan municipal, county, regional, or other transportation agency clients.
  • Demonstrated business development and client management experience, including identifying opportunities, developing client relationships, supporting pursuits, and contributing to successful project wins.
  • Experience leading or supporting MDOT and local agency transportation projects, including preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E).
  • Experience with highway and roadway design, including urban and rural roadways, interstate facilities, interchanges, and related transportation infrastructure.
  • Experience with Bentley OpenRoads or similar roadway design software.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to interact effectively with public-sector clients, technical teams, and project stakeholders.
