Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Trade Advisory Group as a Senior Trade Advisor. This role works closely with our valued clients and internal colleagues to provide guidance within a prescribed timeframe.
Responsibilities:
  • Conducts independent Customs related research as requested by clients.
  • Develops project plan to determine time frame and procedures for accomplishing project.
  • Trains customers about import and export regulations on an as-needed basis.
  • Exercises independent judgment as it relates to customer interface during consulting projects.
  • Interfaces with other internal or external resources as needed to complete the consulting project on-time and to the client's expectation(s).
  • Demonstrates ability to research and interpret government import and export regulations and applies them to the clients' situations.
  • Develops solutions to complex import and export situations and recommends course of action.
  • Ensures, when opinion is provided, U.S. Government regulatory requirements are met as related to imports and exports.
  • Responsible for the analysis and interpretation of information received from clients and consultants.
  • Performs complex data analysis for goods in all industries.
  • Liaison between organization and appropriate government departments with regards to resolving client's situation and/or project.
  • Prioritizes and completes work according to project demands, customs requirements, and standards.
  • Recognizes and takes advantage of sales opportunities.
  • Remains current with Customs regulations, procedures, and requirements along with familiarity of other federal laws and regulations affecting trade and Customs.
  • Presents at and/or coordinates public speaking engagements and seminars.
  • Mentors and provides guidance to colleagues.
  • Cross-trains in additional responsibilities.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by management.
  • Up to 10% travel required.

Required Qualifications:
  • If offered the position, the successful candidate must possess or be willing and able to obtain a Customs Broker's License, which includes, among other requirements, US Citizenship.
  • Strong classification experience
  • Intermediate skill level and experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in the customs brokerage, or auditing field

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Trade Consulting experience
  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
  • Trade compliance audit and risk assessment experience
  • Development of Trade Compliance Programs including compliance manuals
  • Implementation of effective internal controls to meet regulatory requirements
  • Establishment of Trusted Trade programs, such as ISA
  • Analysis and submission of Prior Disclosures
  • Valuation
  • Binding Ruling process and submission
  • AD/CVD

The salary range of compensation for this position will be $90,000-$110,000 based on experience and education.
