Job description

Scope of Work The Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for managing and maintaining all Oracle Database environments.
Day-to-day work includes ensuring the smooth, efficient, and secure operation of Oracle database systems, including design, installation, maintenance, performance tuning, security, and capacity planning, while collaborating with other teams to meet business needs.
The candidate''s specific duties will include:
• Plan, design, install, configure, secure, maintain, and support all Oracle RAC 19c database environment on Exadata and Oracle Data Guard on Disaster Recovery (Site B).
• Analyze, monitor the resource utilization, and tune the performance of all the Oracle database environments.
• Administer and maintain Oracle Exadata clusters, including upgrading databases and Oracle Grid Infrastructure.
• Validate, and implement Quarterly patches on Exadata Oracle database RAC servers (Production and Development) including security updates on a regular schedule with Oracle Professional Services
• Validate and implement Quarterly patches on Oracle data guard (Site B) including security updates on a regular schedule following the quarterly patch implementation from Oracle Professional Services. • Enable and Support Oracle encryption on all the database environment with Oracle Key Vault.
• Assist the Unix and network security team in monitoring operating system security.
• Ensure that all changes to the environment adhere to established Change Management policies and procedures.
• Maintain disaster recovery configurations for Oracle Linux systems, perform periodic disaster recovery tests for the critical databases and maintain disaster recovery documentation procedures.
• Perform Database backup and test recovery plans using Veeam Solution.
• Administer, monitor, and troubleshoot clustered server environment using Oracle ASM.
• Provide technical assistance to Systems development and Business Users
• Set up and monitor the scheduled Oracle batch jobs.
• Set-up and monitor system alerts to provide 24x7 support and high availability.
• Liaise with Oracle, and other vendors to troubleshoot critical technical issues and escalate based on the criticality.
• Follow communications protocol for Database outages and file incident report.
• Escalate major database issues/problems to senior Client Management
• Respond to Service Desk tickets for technical support ensuring timely follow-up and resolution.
• Maintain inventory of all database environment and software assets
• Available to work after hours and weekends as needed.
Vendor Qualifications
• Preferably 8-10 experience as a Senior Oracle DBA managing a large-scale Oracle environment with Oracle Data Guard on Oracle Linux environment.
• Experience in Shell scripting, Perl, and Python.
• Experience in supporting and troubleshooting networking services and protocols to support Linux environment i.e. TCP/IP, SSL, SFTP, SSH, Send mail, etc.
• Experience in migrating database to cloud environment (AWS, Azure, or Oracle Cloud) is a big plus.
• Experience in supporting Oracle WebLogic, and Oracle RDBMS in Oracle Linux operating systems.
• Knowledge of approaches, tools, and techniques for recognizing and resolving technical (software, application) problems
• Strong interpersonal skills, problem solving skills, and customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and perform in a high-paced/high-pressure environment.
• Ability to work independently or within a group to solve complex problems.
• Ability to communicate with different levels of the organization.
• Strong team player with service-oriented attitude and customer focus
