Job description

Title: Wi-Fi Senior Test Engineer
Location: Philadelphia, PA (Onsite)

Core Responsibilities:

  • Strong understanding of Wi-Fi fundamentals; knowledge of 802.11 protocols (a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be)
  • Collaborate closely with Product & Development teams to identify product and technical requirements
  • Develop strategies and characterize Wi-Fi behavior in new products; lead engineering investigations — identifying, reproducing, and resolving product defects
  • Review and verify requirements and design specs for overall product design, with emphasis on architecture requirements, testability, and verification
  • Assist in developing QA test philosophies and methodologies; help identify viable test strategies for product functionality testing
  • Familiar with advanced Wi-Fi test automation frameworks and industry trends from IEEE, WFA, WBA, IETF
  • Assist in identifying and resolving problems/defects; drive issues and improvements through to resolution

Pre-Requisite Skills:

  • BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related technical field
  • Solid understanding of Wi-Fi antennas, frequency coordination, 802.11 WLAN technologies, and IP protocols
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Moderate scripting knowledge
  • Troubleshooting and root-cause-analysis skills
  • 5+ years of experience in networking and wireless technologies
  • Regular, consistent, punctual attendance; variable schedule as needed

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with home networking protocols (Bluetooth, Matter, Wi-Fi, etc.)
  • Experience with broadband product testing — DOCSIS, Ethernet, Cable modem standards
  • Hands-on experience with device/consumer product testing, ideally high-performance applications
  • Background in automated product test environments, including test automation/maintenance
  • Ability to work with technology partner/vendor teams on architecture decisions and troubleshooting
  • Good knowledge of data science tools, scripting, and programming languages
