Job description

Overview: We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to support mission-critical geospatial and enterprise infrastructure environments. This position focuses on the design, integration, modernization, and sustainment of large-scale Windows, Cloud, and hybrid infrastructure solutions supporting operational users. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in systems engineering, enterprise architecture, cloud technologies, virtualization, and security compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, implementation, and modernization of enterprise infrastructure solutions supporting mission operations.
  • Engineer and maintain Windows Server, Active Directory, Citrix, VDI, and cloud-based environments.
  • Develop and document system architectures, technical roadmaps, implementation plans, and engineering artifacts.
  • Evaluate existing systems and recommend improvements for performance, scalability, security, and operational efficiency.
  • Support hybrid and cloud-based architectures utilizing AWS services and best practices.
  • Coordinate system upgrades, patching strategies, vulnerability remediation efforts, and configuration management activities.
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, virtualization, and application issues across operational environments.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance with DoD, IC, and agency security requirements.
  • Support accreditation activities and implementation of security controls aligned with NIST, ICD 503, and related frameworks.
  • Author SOPs, design documentation, implementation guides, and operational procedures.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across engineering initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or related field and 8+ years of relevant experience; additional experience may be substituted for a degree.
  • Active Top Secret clearance (TS/SCI preferred)
  • Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570 certification.
  • Experience designing and supporting enterprise Windows environments.
  • Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, Windows Server administration, and enterprise infrastructure services.
  • Experience with Citrix technologies, virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), or virtualized enterprise environments.
  • Experience supporting system engineering activities including requirements analysis, architecture development, integration, testing, and operational sustainment.
  • Experience performing security remediation, vulnerability management, and compliance-related activities.
  • Experience with AWS cloud services and hybrid cloud architectures.
  • Experience producing technical documentation, system diagrams, and engineering artifacts.
  • Experience utilizing collaboration and configuration management tools such as GitLab, Jira, and Confluence.
