Job description

As the Senior Architect you will be partnering with diverse teams across the organization to create impactful solutions that are scalable, reliable, and aligned with business objectives, supporting continuous growth and transformation.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Design and evolve enterprise application architectures, APIs, integrations, databases, and AWS cloud-native solutions, translating business requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable technical designs.
  • Lead solution architecture activities, including creating technical specifications, system designs, architecture diagrams, standards, and best practices that support business and technology objectives.
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain backend applications, microservices, integrations, and data processing solutions while contributing hands-on through coding, troubleshooting, and delivery of business-critical initiatives.
  • Build and optimize complex integrations, business logic, databases, data models, and application performance across internal systems, cloud platforms, and third-party services.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, develop proofs of concept, and recommend innovative solutions that improve scalability, reliability, and operational effectiveness.
  • Mentor developers, provide architectural guidance, conduct design and code reviews, and promote software quality through development standards and testing practices.
  • Champion DevOps, CI/CD, automation, and modernization initiatives while supporting technical planning, estimation, and technology roadmaps.
  • Design, implement, and support AWS infrastructure and production environments, ensuring high levels of security, availability, observability, performance, resilience, compliance, and operational excellence.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field; Master's degree is considered an asset.
  • 10+ years of progressive software engineering experience, including 5+ years designing and implementing enterprise-scale solution architectures and backend platforms.
  • Strong expertise in backend application development, software design patterns, enterprise architecture principles, and technical leadership.
  • Proven experience designing and building RESTful APIs, microservices, event-driven architectures, and complex systems integrations.
  • Advanced knowledge of database architecture, data modeling, SQL optimization, and building scalable, high-performance applications.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, cloud-native architectures, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of application security, operational excellence, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and supporting production environments.
  • AWS, TOGAF, or related certifications, along with experience in healthcare or other regulated industries, Agile environments, legacy modernization, and high-volume customer-facing platforms, are considered strong assets.
