 Senior Platform Developer (Groovy)

Location: Remote (First 2 weeks- On-site requirement after remote) | Springfields, IL

Position Overview

The Senior Groovy Developer will support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of scientific calculation logic within the LabVantage Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). This role is responsible for designing and implementing Groovy scripting solutions that support laboratory business processes and automate complex scientific calculations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Groovy scripting solutions within the LabVantage LIMS environment.
  • Translate complex Excel-based formulas, scientific calculations, and mathematical equations into accurate and maintainable Groovy scripts.
  • Develop and enhance computational logic, including complex equations and decay correction processes.
  • Collaborate with business users and laboratory subject matter experts to analyze requirements and implement scripting solutions.
  • Participate in system testing, validation, troubleshooting, and refinement of scripts.
  • Configure laboratory specifications, control limits, and instrument performance monitoring using the Statistical Process Control (SPC) module.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation related to scripting, calculations, and system configurations.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience developing Groovy scripting solutions, preferably in LabVantage LIMS.
  • Demonstrated experience translating complex Excel-based formulas and scientific calculations into Groovy.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical problem-solving skills, including expertise in decay corrections.
  • Deep proficiency in Groovy and Java (8 through 11+), with a strong understanding of JVM mechanics.
  • Experience configuring SPC modules, laboratory specifications, and control limits.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, testing methodologies, and application support.
